San Francisco Art Book Fair Announces Sixth Year at Minnesota Street Project

The San Francisco Art Book Fair (SFABF) is an annual multi-day exhibition and celebration of printed material from independent publishers, artists, designers, collectors, and enthusiasts from around the world.

Launched in 2016 as a joint collaboration between Colpa Press, Minnesota Street Project, and Park Life, the fair’s popularity has grown steadily. As of 2022, SFABF has welcomed more than 60,000 visitors from the Bay Area and beyond. The fair continues to expand its horizons, offering more in-depth programming related to art publishing at three different on-site venues, new exhibitors, and exciting fundraising editions from Bay Area artists. This year, we are happy to announce that SFABF is being presented by the Minnesota Street Project Foundation.

Adding to the excitement of the fair, we’ve included Minnesota Street Project Foundation’s new exhibition space at 1201 Minnesota Street. In addition to the 80 exhibitors at 1275 Minnesota Street, the new location will feature 75 publishers from around the world whose practices are dedicated to accessible and inventive forms of bookmaking and publishing. The complete list of exhibitors is available on the fair website.

SFABF places the unique history and perspectives of the Bay Area in conversation with national and international publishing communities. The fair features artists’ books, art catalogues, monographs, periodicals, zines, printed ephemera, and artists’ multiples. These items are presented by over 160 publishers, antiquarian dealers, artists, and galleries from the Bay Area and around the world.

The San Francisco Art Book Fair takes place July 14 through 16, with a preview on the evening of Thursday, July 13, from 6 to 10pm (PT). The fair is free and open to the public.
