Expand Your Practice With New York Studio School’s Evening & Weekend Classes

Evening & Weekend Classes at the New York Studio School (NYSS) occur in the Fall (September–December) and Spring (January–May) semesters. These courses enable artists of all levels to experience the school’s “learning through making” pedagogy, receive guidance and feedback from our inspiring instructors, and join the expansive NYSS community on 8th Street or virtually from your home studio.

Courses meet weekly for 11 sessions, forming a rhythm and continuity for in-depth exploration. Virtual sections are offered in real-time, utilizing Zoom as our “shared studio space” and Padlet as our “critique walls”. With intimate class sizes and a range of time options, including a special “Late-Night” Drawing class on Thursdays, these virtual offerings create access to the rigor of NYSS study at a time that suits your schedule and from the convenience of your location.

About NYSS
The New York Studio School was founded in 1964 as an intensive studio arts program with an emphasis on perception; artists learning from artists; and drawing as the most direct means of describing one’s ideas or experiences.
