Combatting Cultural Erasure

After hundreds of artists called for his removal, Leon Black will not bid for re-election as chairman of the Museum of Modern Art’s board of trustees. However, the financier will remain on the board.
In Tunis, an appeals court released Rania Amdouni, a prominent LGBTQ activist and artist, who had been sentenced to six months in prison on charges of “insulting” the police. She is one of many Tunisian LGBTQ activists who report being routinely targeted and attacked by the country’s security forces.
UK authorities are prohibited from searching Queen Elizabeth II’s home for looted goods. The exception for the royal is part of an act established in 2017 giving police the power to investigate areas where they suspect stolen artifacts may be held.
Designer Stella McCartney presented an outfit featuring Mylo, a new form of vegan “leather” made of the root network of mushrooms.
